Wear the tracks off of it
The audience for this post is approximately six people, but I think it’s funny so I’m going to post it :)
I use a Juki TL-2010Q sewing machine at home, which does not have a built in walking foot. (A “walking foot,” or “even feed foot”, is a sewing machine tool which helps to move multiple thick layers of fabric evenly thorough the machine.) With all of the bags that I sew, having multiple layers of fabric, stabilizers and faux leather, a walking foot is absolutely necessary - so I use an aftermarket one made by Juki.
I’ve noticed that it’s not been as easy to sew lately, and chalked it up to using a new faux leather, being tired, changing my needle, all the things you do.
But then yesterday I took the foot off and really LOOKED at it.
A new, out of the box even feed foot looks like this:
Whereas the even feed foot that I’ve been sewing with - daily - for about two years now…. looks like this:
Apparently it’s possible to literally wear the tracks off of this thing 😅
